On June 17, 2024, we celebrate the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought under the theme "United for Land: Our Legacy. Our Future." This day highlights the crucial role of healthy soils in climate protection, biodiversity conservation, and ensuring water security. This year, Germany is proud to host the event at the Kunsthalle in Bonn, marking the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification.

Desertification and drought are major challenges. Up to 40% of the world's land area is already degraded, affecting nearly half of humanity. At the same time, heavy rainfall is increasing and leading to severe flooding.
