NordArt 2019
From 1st June to 13th October
For the 21st time, the exhibition will be presenting paintings and sculptures, photographs and installations by 200 selected artists from all over the world. NordArt is one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in Europe and takes place annually on the grounds of the former iron foundry Carlshütte, the ACO Group headquarters. NordArt, conceived by Chief Curator Wolfgang Gramm, year after year redefines itself anew and setting new priorities. Around 3,000 artists from 102 countries applied for the NordArt 2019.
This year's Focus Country is on France, with its own pavilion under the patronage of the Ambassador of France in Germany, Anne-Marie Descôtes.
The NordArt 2019 also present new special projects from China and Mongolia. A regional focus is set by the " North German Realists". All awardees of NordArt 2018 are represented with new works this year.
