Major honour for Richard Hill
ACO managing director to be spokesman of the building materials industry in the United Kingdom
The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) is the only federation of all building materials merchants and building materials producers in the United Kingdom. It has now elected ACO's managing director Richard Hill to be its new chairman. He will succeed the previous chairman Peter Hindle on 1 April 2020, taking charge to ensure that builders, builders merchants and suppliers are provided with optimal technical information, as well as lobbying on behalf of the industry. "As the chairman, I will be in the centre of our industry," says Richard Hill. "I am genuinely honoured to have been chosen to chair the BMF, and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to give something back to an industry that has supported me throughout my career. I am happy and humbled that the BMF board has placed their trust in me, and I will ensure that I listen carefully to fully understand and represent the views and needs of the entire membership."
Richard Hill also states that the ACO Group itself can be honoured by his attainment of this position. It is thanks to the strong market position that ACO has enjoyed for many years that he was able to raise his personal profile, and be taken into consideration for the position as chairman. Richard Hill has been an active participant in the building materials supply industry for nearly three decades. During this time, he has been an enthusiastic supporter of the BMF, speaking at numerous meetings and conferences, and sponsoring activities.
The board of the federation is delighted to confirm Richard Hill's appointment: "Richard has the breadth of experience and gravitas within the building materials industry to build on Peter Hindle's achievements, and ensure the BMF's continued influence across the supply chain."
We at the ACO Group congratulate Richard Hill on the assumption of his additional responsibilities, and wish him a great deal of success in future. He is now an even greater spokesman for our sector than he had been previously on behalf of ACO.
