Airport Redevelopment New Plymouth

The redesign of the airport terminal in New Plymouth, which was completed in March 2020, received a gold award at the Best Design Awards of the Designers Institute of New Zealand. Including traditional
features, the new terminal was designed to reflect the surrounding Taranaki region. ACO’s products were installed across the site, matching the architectural story of the project. The Rhinocast® Access Covers with stainless steel decorative edges were chosen to provide discreet access to underground services, preserving the continuity of the floor surface.

The recessed Rhinocast® access cover offers the ability to be filled with tiles that match or complement the surrounding environment, ensuring aesthetic consistency. Reinforcing ribs cast into the cover provide the necessary strength, while the stainless steel decorative edge offers an attractive finish. Additionally, the product is certified to AS 3996 Class B loading, ensuring its suitability for the project's requirements.
